Transfer Credit Policy
UIJ welcomes transfer students and works to maximize the transfer of your previously earned credits. We accept credits from accredited institutions, standardized exams, military training, and professional certifications.
- Up to 90 credits may transfer toward a bachelor's degree
- Grades of C (2.0) or higher are eligible for transfer
- Credits evaluated within 2 weeks of admission
- Official credit evaluation provided before enrollment
Articulation Agreements
UIJ maintains articulation agreements with community colleges and international partner institutions, ensuring seamless credit transfer and a clear pathway to your degree.

Application Process
Transferring to UIJ is straightforward. Our admissions team works with you individually to ensure a smooth transition.
- Submit online application with $50 fee
- Request official transcripts from all previously attended institutions
- Submit course descriptions for any courses needing detailed evaluation
- Applications accepted on a rolling basis
Prior Learning Assessment
Students with significant professional experience, military training, or certifications may earn academic credit through our Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program.
- Portfolio-based assessment of professional experience
- CLEP and DSST exam credit accepted
- Military training evaluated for academic credit
- Professional certifications may qualify for credit
