Semester Exchange Programs

Spend a semester at one of our partner universities across the globe. Credits earned abroad transfer seamlessly to your UIJ degree, and our advisors help you select courses that fulfill your requirements.

Partner universities in North America, the Caribbean, and Africa
Credits transfer with pre-approval from your academic advisor
Tuition remains at UIJ rates through exchange agreements
Housing and cultural orientation provided by host institution

Faculty-Led Programs

Short-term, faculty-led programs offer intensive international experiences during summer and winter breaks. These 2–4 week programs combine coursework with field visits, cultural immersion, and community engagement.

International Internships

Gain professional experience abroad through internships with partner organizations, NGOs, and businesses. Internships are available in fields including public health, business, technology, education, and community development.

3–6 month placements with partner organizations
Academic credit available with faculty sponsorship
Stipend or housing support for select placements
Open to juniors, seniors, and graduate students

Virtual Exchange

Can't travel? Our virtual exchange programs connect you with students at partner universities through collaborative online projects, shared seminars, and cross-cultural dialogue—all from your own home.

Eligibility & Application

Study abroad is open to students who have completed at least one full-time semester at UIJ with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Applications are due the semester prior to your intended program.

Minimum 2.5 GPA and good academic standing
Completed at least one semester at UIJ
Application deadlines: October 1 for Spring, March 1 for Fall/Summer
Scholarship assistance available for eligible students
